Monte Nerone
Departure from Piobbico, where we take the flat main street, which is useful for prepare de musles in the direction of Roccaleonella, where we start the first climb, 2 km long with a maximum slope of 10%. After that we continue through the valley to get to Pianello, where the climb of Monte Nerone begins (13.3 Km long with a maximum slope of 12%).
This is the way of the Giro d’Italia 2009 , of the Gran fondo Straducale of Urbino and probably the best side for cyclists.
We enter into the village of Pianello and pass it pointing towards the mountain, the climb begins shortly after the river, immediately with a killing slope of 13%, only after the last houses of Pianello the slope change to become downhill for about 500m.
The climb restart with a slope of 10-12%, to Cerreto, where we turn right towards this latter, here is also the first hairpin numbered, the 21 with the relative elevation (520m).
The slope is generally around to 8%, this allows you to pick up the pace and continue regular up to 1100m altitude where in Bocca Plan a short flat section allows you to relax your muscles while waiting for the slopes come back to be grim, in fact, already the next bend is touched again a slope of 12%.
The climb of Monte Nerone ends at an altitude of 1462m, where an awesome memorial stone, remember the centenary of the Giro d’Italia.
Here we go down to the discent for over 10 kilometers, until you reach the valley floor, where we expect the final challenging climb, 2.4 km long with gradients of up to 10% leading to Moria, where the race ends
