Colle dell'Agnello
Videorace of 63 km, with a gain of 2231 meters and a max slope of 15%. The Colle dell'Agnello is the pass that connects with the Piemonte region with the Queiras region in France. It is located west of Monviso.
The slope is more challenging in the Italian side, through Val Varaita, always feared by cyclists of the Giro d'Italia, it is appreciate by enthusiasts and cyclists.
He made his debut in a high level competition in 1994: 77th Giro d'Italia, stage Cuneo-Les Deux Alpes. this rise is characterized ten very challenging final kilometers (average slope of about 10%).
The high altitude forced cyclists to do this route in summer days with stable weather, a sudden deterioration in weather can bring down the temperature to zero even during the summer. This is one of the main reasons why, since 1994, the Colle dell'Agnello has been included only two other occasions in the course of the Giro d'Italia (2000 and 2007) and twice in the Tour de France (2008 and 2011).
