San Baronto
This video race celebrates San Baronto, one of the most popular cyclist climbs included in numerous Professionals classics. It starts from Vinci, the birthplace of the great Leonardo, from here we climb the San Baronto in the easier side but probably the most beautiful from the point of view of the landscape.
We go down to Casalguidi, our thoughts go to Franco Ballerini who will always remain in our hearts. We reach Pistoia and then proceed to go back to Casalguidi to face the San Baronto from this side. This side is ideal to perform repeated, in the early months of the year it is easy to meet other professionals who train. We go down to Lamporecchio and then again on the San Baronto by the harder side. We go down to Vinci and proceed to Vitolini to address the Pinone, another celebrated ascent of Tuscany. Final direction of Carmignano that allows us to relax the muscles.Located 349 meters above sea level San Baronto historically has grown as a country around the church, which was a monastery until the eighteenth century, and which has therefore been the central focus, the pole of attraction of the community. Being situated along the 'important pass of Montalbano, beyond which go down towards the plain of Pistoia and Prato, San Baronto is really a terrace from which you can dominate much of the surrounding plains.
