This race starts near the village of Malaucene. From here begins the long climb to the Mont Ventoux. Once the summit, we ride all the descent to reach our final goal in Bedoin.

When you finished 'Le Mont Ventoux par Bedoin (Sud)', turn around an do it again. I'm glad that this RLV does not end on top of the climb, since I need the descent in order to be able to get out of my torture basement, i.e. upstairs again...
A relentless, long climb. Nice quiet roads from this direction with only one other cyclist spotted on the ascent. The climb through the trees tests not only your legs and lungs but your resolve too as it's not the most interesting. But once the trees start to thin out it gets a whole heap more interesting. Once the trees are left behind the vistas are jaw dropping and the final approach to the last few sections to the tower are iconic and remarkable. In this direction, although the climb isn't perhaps as pretty as the one from the South, the bonus is the route takes the higher road at the tower due to the one way system !!
