Natural continuation of our video "Risoul", this videorace propose another mythical climb for the world of cycling enthusiasts. Col de la Bonette (2802 meters) is the highest road pass in Europe. The climb de la Bonette is memorable, you really feel like getting into heaven. The long climb begins shortly after Jausier (5 km after start). The road rises with modest slopes offering great views of the valley. At km 19 we pass the remains of the barracks of Restefond. The slopes are softened near the Col de Restefond. After 21 km we pass the Col de la Bonette, but we continue the climb to ride the "round of Bonette." After another kilometer, with some very steep parts, we arrive at the Top Bonette. The place is extremely wild and the landscape is an absolute beauty. The ascent is 22 km with an average slope of 7% and a maximum of 13% The descent is unforgettable. The road is beautiful with spectacular views of the surrounding landscape and leads us easily to Saint Etienne de Tinee where the race ends.

After riding the 'Risoul', the 'Col de la Bonette' will literally squeeze the last bit out of your legs. This climb seems to never end: 22 km long and an elevation of almost 1600 meters in one big chunk. With the 'Risoul' in your legs, hitting the 'Bonette' is a mental torture. But you will be rewarded by a unique ride through the clouds directly up into the sky.
If you are looking for an epic ride in the French Alps, these two RLV are the ones to ride.

Con la videocorsa della Bonette Bikelab ha fatto un lavoro davvero unico: ha mescolato un percorso da leggenda con un’atmosfera zero fronzoli, sia per il meteo e gli ambienti da alta montagna sia per la ridottissima presenza umana. Sui 23 km di salita si pedala sempre molto agevolmente, sia per le pendenze insolitamente “tranquille” (ci sono poche decine di metri oltre il 10% ed un brevissimo picco al 12,8%) sia per la costante sensazione di grande tranquillità, direi quasi di isolamento. In effetti nei pressi della sommità a 2,802 mt do quota anche l’aspetto lunare del terreno rafforza un senso di solitudine. Poi la soddisfazione di aver doppiato questo valico record per l’Europa cresce progressivamente grazie alla velocissima ed in alto spaventosa discesa in nuvola, discesa fra l’altro di lunghezza interminabile con i suoi 40 km, 26 dei quali in questa videocorsa e gli altri 14 all’avvio di quella de la Lombarde … che a questo punto non si vede l’ora di iniziare!
