GF - Giro d'Italia 2016 13th stage (FULL RACE)

Stage completely immersed in the Eastern Julian Alps and in its forests of chestnuts, also known for famous wines of Friuli and wild boars.
We face five climbs very well known among the local amateurs.
Departure from the fortified town of Palmanova (UNESCO candidate), flat stretch before reaching the easy slope leading to the Abbazia di Rosazzo.
After the descent we cycle still plain to Cividale del Friuli.
From here the Granfondo Giro d'Italia 2016 begins, we go up the Natisone river. Then we face the first tough climb of Montemaggiore (Monte Matajur) from Savogna, via Ieronizza to descend on Cepletischis and climb up the Monte San Martino in quick succession and the rise of Drenchia / Crai presenting between Clodig and Trusgne slope constantly double-digit then soften to the summit.
Descent back to the Natisone and passage in Cividale. Go back to Tarcento and reached Attimis, we face the tough climb of Porzus (home to historical facts during the Second World War), quickly get down and immediately climb the slope of Valle always with stretches of considerable slope. Challenging descent on Campeglio and from the bottom of the hill just 6 km separate us from the finish line.

The ascent begins in Savogna immediately after crossing the bridge over the river Alberone, taking the road on the left. The environment in which the salt is very wild, the road is narrow, shady and winding but do not plan to find relief in the corners, they are mostly sloping. After the first two kilometers with acceptable slope (6-8%) will reach the village of Ieronizza, where ends the easy part of the climb and where, after a bridge, it begins the true commitment. It runs into the woods, steep uphill (10-12%), but regular. The leaves have numerous openings from which you can admire the green slopes of the surrounding hills. Past the village of Stermizza the climb continues increasingly steep until the last two bends (challenging), but we are already in the country of Montemaggiore, where it ends.

Passo San Martino
Distance: 2.5 Km Altimeters = 186 Mt Slope (%): Min = Max = 0.3 10.6 Avg = 7.5 ")
This climb is splitting legs since the first kilometer is downhill on narrow road and after the bridge over the stream Rieca salt but with constant positive slope (7-8%) should be taken into account as well the technical descent.

Clodig - Drenchia

Ascent divided substantially into two sections, the first hard (8 - 12%) for approximately 4 kilometers, while the second more affordable (3.5 - 8%). Shady street in the first part, ends at the edge of the forest, the second sunny, with gorgeous views of the valley of Drenchia and the top of Mount Kolovrat. The Slovenian border is four steps.

Porzus
Distance: 7.6 km: Altimeters = 680 Mtr Slope (%): Min = Max = 2.0 = 9.0 14.4 Avg
Lonely road and shaded, little man-made environment, good road. The first part of salt is almost constant (8 - 11%) and a bit of breath before the village of Porzus, after there are 2.2 kilometers uphill end of a stepped slopes at 12/13%.

Canal Grivò - Valle

Climb almost constant after the first kilometer with slopes between 3 and 5%, there are 200 meters to more than 10%, then it goes constant between 8 and 9.5%. The summit is about 600 mt. before the descent. Technical descent and challenging for the slopes to climb much higher.
