Col du Portillon (East and West Side)
The Col du Portillon is a pass in the Pyrenees on the border between Spain and France. It connects Bossòst in the Val d'Aran in Spain with Bagnères-de-Luchon in France.
Video starts from Bagnères-de-Luchon. After few kilometers we start the climb to Col du Portillon from France.
From this side, the Col du Portillon ascent is 7 km long. Over this distance, you climb 626 heightmeters. The average percentage thus is 8.5 %.
Then we descend the downhill to Viella, where we go back to run the other side of Col du Portillon.
Starting from Bossòst, the road is wide and a good surface, and the gradient is fairly steady the climb is 8.6 km long. Over this distance, the climb is 583 m (1,913 ft) at an average of 6.8%. The steepest section is at 8.2%.
